A pair of large Japanese Satsuma pottery 'Samurai' vases, Meiji period, painted to each side with samurai in landscape reserves, with brocade pattern borders, gilt decorated with shi-shi and flowers, 63.5cm high, one vase restored

Both vases have some wear to the gilding particularly on the rim and raised areas and light staining to the crackle of the glaze. One of the vases has some staining to hairline cracks on the rim. One of the vases has restored cracks to the neck travelling down the body.
