The painting is not signed, but has good provenance - according to the vendor this was gifted by the artist to the previous owner, Anne Goodchild - Anne Goodchild, was an art historian who rose to become senior curator of the Graves art gallery in Sheffield, where she had started as a researcher back in the early 1970s - she had a large art collection, much of which was collected through gifts and purchases directly from the artists.
