Mardon Son & Hall - x12 pieces of original artwork, believed to completed by artists who worked for Mardon Son & Hall Ltd Bristol, for cigarette card designs. The artwork appears to be painted on top of photographs, originally taken by Reginald A. Malby, a British photographer from the early 20th Century. Featuring multiple different types of flowers, such as 'Androsace Sarmentosa', 'Primula Pubescens', 'Viola Gracilis' and others. All mounted. Measuring approximately 19.5 cm x 13.5 cm including the mount.

Reginald A. Malby was an official photographer for the Royal Horticultural Society and his company won the RHS medal in 1915, the RHS Gold Grenfell medal in 1926 and after his death, his company won the Veitch Memorial medal in 1941. When Malby set up his business in the 20th Century, colour images were rare, so his highly coloured images were at the cutting edge of photography. Malby took photographs of a variety of subjects such as people, historic buildings, but his strength lay in flowers and rare plants.
