Two French typewritten letters to Ferdinand Otto Miksche from President of France Charles de Gaulle, dated 1955 and 1967, the latter written whilst he was President. Envelope accompanies this letter, with Presidence de la Republique stamps. Accompanied by a slip headed 'General de Gaulle' with a short thank you note in de Gaulle's hand.
Ferdinand Otto Miksche (1904-1992) was a Czech Captain and military historian, awarded the Medal of Freedom and Order of the Colonial Empire, and the author of a number of works on European military history.
Each letter signed by de Gaulle in ink. (3)
