Railway. A box of approx. 335 black and white prints and postcards, featuring ex Southern Railway locomotives, stations and views. The prints were assembled by the late Rev. Peter W. Boulding who passed away in 1979. Peter amassed a large collection of items of transport interest and these are from that collection. The prints are from a variety of sources including: Real Photograph Co, Pamlin Prints, P.W. Boulding, Alan A. Jackson etc. There are approx. 95 prints of the Western section of the Southern region of BR and its predecessor the Southern Railway and LSWR and the PDSWJR. Locations noted: Camberley, Frimley, Ascot, Padstow, Bodmin, Launceston etc. Plus approx. 135 prints of the former London Chatham & Dover Railway and its successors, the SECR, Southern railway and BR. Locations include: Sheppey Light Railway and the Gravesend West Branch amongst others. Plus approx. 72 prints of rolling stock (locos and passenger cars) of the former South Eastern & Chatham Railway. Many of the locos are in the livery of the SECR's successors, the Southern Railway and later Southern region of BR. Plus approx. 35 prints featuring scenes on the West London Extension line (Clapham Junction to Willesden Jnt via Kensington Olympia/Addison Road). Most appear to be pre-WW2. Most have minor captions. No copyright. Sample illustrated.
