A Japanese cormorant fisherman okimono, (late Meiji 1868-1912/Taisho 1912-26), the sectional ivory figure modelled in leaning position resting on a log, holding a cormorant aloft, signed to base, height 17cm, standing on a carved wooden base.
Subject to CITES regulations, this lot will require a re-export permit if shipped outside the mainland UK.

More Information

The okimono is a sectional figure, and therefore the jointed areas appear a little loose, and the left arms shows a small gap at the joint.
Small breaks to the tip of the coral.
Small cracks visible throughout.
Natural wear and yellowing to the ivory throughout.
Subject to CITES regulations, this lot will require a re-export permit if shipped outside the mainland UK.
