A 16 bore flintlock duelling pistol by Clarke of Dublin, c 1800, 15½” overall, well rebrowned octagonal twist barrel 9¾” with small blade fore sight, and engraved “Clarke-Dublin”; signed lock with swan neck cock, semi rainproof pan, and roller on frizzen spring; dark walnut fullstock with small gold escutcheon, the steel mounts include small domed butt cap and large engraved trigger guard with pineapple finial. GWO & C (the stock and mounts sympathetically refinished, traces of stock fracture below the lock, ramrod replaced). Plate 15
