Obverse: crowned and cuirassed half-portrait of James holding an orb and a sword, in front of a beaded circle, a thistle mintmark precedes a legend that reads 'IACOBVS · D '· G '· MAG · BRIT ·' FRAN ·&· HIB · REX'. Reverse: crowned shield of royal arms within an ornate frame, the Scottish arms in the top left and bottom right segments, 'IR' divided on either side, thistle mintmark and legend reading 'FACIAM · EOS · IN · GENTEM · VNAM ·'. Weight: 9.63g. Diameter: 37.4mm. Grade: gF - a full flan, good Fine detail, slightly better in places.
