An interesting Suffolk association copy, the Reverend William Betham (1749-1839) was resident in Stradbroke village, and it was where his son Sir William (1779-1853), later Ulster King of Arms, was born.

Provenance: 1) John Rous, 1st Earl of Stradbroke (1750-1827), of Henham Park, Suffolk, his Spade Shield Armorial bookplates as Baron Rous (1796-1827) and the later library stamp of an earl's coronet above Stradbroke in Gothic Black Letter; 2) by descent at Henham Park until a house sale by local auction c. 1953?, lot stickers of that date numbered 1178 on endpapers; 3) eventually with Heraldry Today, their tickets.
