The 1817 augmentation to the Arms of Lt.-Col. Edward Miles by authority of the Prince Regent, the Garter Principal King of Arms and the Clarenceux King of Arms in recognition of his services under the command of the Duke of Wellington at Salamanca in 1812 and San Sebastien in 1813.
Together with its corresponding licence signed by the Prince Regent and Viscount Sidmouth (Home Secretary), and with Ten Pounds tax stamp; the seals of Sir Isaac Heard and George Harrison in japanned-tin circular boxes; parchment box and 1873 facsimile of the text of the original licence.
