An early 20th century brass and mahogany folding boat or cabin ladder, maker Hoskin & Son Ltd,Neptune Works, Birmingham: the brass frame with three mahogany treads inset ribbed rubber mats, the middle tread with circular ivorine maker's plaque as per title to underside, 101.5 x 26.5cm. *Notes- Hoskin & Son Ltd also produced folding bed frames for The Orient Express. In 1926 Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin faced questions regarding the Government contracts awarded to Hoskin & Son as the Health Secretary, Neville Chamberlain was a director of the company.
