A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, QUEENS PARK WORKS, 22199, 1919, from a Robinson Great Central type 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order for the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers in July 1919, ROD No 2109. Loaned new to the Great Central Railway, it returned to the ROD in August 1921 to be stored at Stratton. Acquired by the GWR in May 1925 and numbered 3090, but then renumbered to 3041 which number it carried for the rest of its life. At St Philips Marsh by January 1948 and later Shrewsbury and Carmarthen from where it was withdrawn on 7 March 1958 and cut up at Swindon Works week ending 7 May 1958. Cast brass, 13"x5¼", the front unpainted, the back stamped 3041. (Postage Band: B)
