A letter written by Major General Mackinnon 1773 - 1812, commander of the 45 regiment, the letter being to his wife Katherine (Kate) dated August 25th 1810, when posted to Villafranca, Italy, a gentle letter, explaining his surroundings his hope for a rural property with 40 or more acres upon his return, enquiring of mutual acquaintances, etc, with handwritten legible copy.
