The Cobden Family Military Medals


The Queen's South Africa Medal, 1899, & The Kings South Africa Medal, with two bars for S. Africa, 1901 & 1902, issued to Lieut. H. Cobden, K.O. Scot Bord, with ribbons. Together with miniatures of above and miniatures of 3 World War I Medals, all on one bar; together with a Group of 4 World War I, silver and brass Medals, awarded to Capt. & Major Cobden, mixed; and also Military:  Khedive's Sudan Medal, 1910, with three bars, Darfur 1916, Fasher, and Garjak Nuer, the medal unnamed but issued to member of the Cobden family, together with example of Knights and Grand Cross, 2nd type G.B.E. Star, with red enamel centre ring, inscribed 'For God and the Empire' surrounding Britannia, and red and purple ribbon; also ten pointed star, Order of Khedive, with five pointed white enamel star, the centre inscribed in Arabic, with makers name Lattes, on reverse. This lot also includes the miniatures of the above set, with miniatures of British War Medal 1914 - 20, 1914 star, and The Victory Medal. A very interesting lot, w.a.f. (as a collection)
