A VICTORIAN WALNUT GAMES COMPENDIUM, with cut brass strapwork and escutcheon, the interior fitted with double-sided games board for chess and backgammon, chess set, draughts, bone dice and associated later dice, bone faced dominoes, natural and red stained bone counters, pointer, playing cards and gilt tooled leather Bezique markers, 34cm wide x 23cm deep x 12.5cm high
There is the beginnings of a crack to the veneer on the right hand side which extends half way across the length. Light scratching to the backgammon board. Small groups of dents and rippling to the veneer on the chequered side. Three older square dice, two 'vintage' and set of five modern. Both Bezique markers have patches of loss to the leather facing. 16 ebonised draughts, 15 natural draughts, counters are a little tired.
Ebonised: One pawn has had the finial off and reapplied. One knight has part ear off. Both bishops have had finial off and back on. Overall scuffs and knocks.
Natural: All in good order just a few scuffs.
