**REPLACEMENT CONDITION REPORT** 19th century portrait of a gentleman wearing a powdered wig, oil on canvas, unsigned, 78cm x 64cm, framed

More Information

Canvas has been lined and professionally restored probably at least 50 years ago when the stretcher was also apparently replaced. I have examined the painting under UV light and there are very minor areas of re-touching particularly around the stretcher mark, and several other tiny areas of re-touching, all very honest conservation but no repaired tears, general light craquelure but paint all stable and presently in very good condition. Painting is from a local deceased estate
