Upper Agbrigg Volunteer Infantry (Huddersfield) George III shoulder belt plate circa 1803-08.
Fine rare silver oval plate, impresssed with Lion silver mark and George III head, by HP & C (H. Prince & Co. York) incised with crowned PRO REGE ET PATRIA strap over laurel sprays; UAV floriated cypher to centre. Single hook and two studs. VGC Yorkshire unit under the overall Colonelcy of Sir George Armytage, Bart. Converted to Local Militia in 1808 as the Agbrigg Local Militia.
