A GEORGE II WALNUT ONE-MONTH DURATION LONGCASE CLOCK, BY SAMUEL STRETCH OF BRISTOL, circa 1730, the five finned pillar movement, bell striking movement, anchor escapement regulated by seconds pendulum, 11 inch brass and silvered arched dial, month dial to arch set within a starburst aperture, Roman / Arabic numerals to silvered dials, seconds dial above a name plate, and two winding holes, all that surrounded by foliate spandrels, the hood is fitted with three shaped brass finials, moulded cornice, blind fretwork, cylindrical pillars, flanking the glazed door, over a trunk with quarter veneers, pendulum viewing port, and shaped plinth, height 252cm, with two lead weights and pendulum, winding key and trunk key (condition report: missing glass to left side of hood, untested)
