A WWII Second World War Japanese Military Police ( Kenpeitai ) Shingunto / Katana sword with signed tang. Capped pommel with loop and tassel, rayskin grin with plaited silk overlay, ' Tan ' signed to the tang ( Tamahagane steel ) and cherry blossom tsuba. The catch mechanism releases with polished blade from the leather clad scabbard. Supplied with research paperwork. Measures approx 102cm.
