An early 19th century Newton's Pocket Terrestrial Globe (marked 'Newton's New & Improved Terrestrial Pocket Globe No 66 Chancery Lane, London') with incremented brass axis, the 7.5cm diameter Globe also marked 'NB. the improved Analemma is intended to supersede the necessity the ecliptic line hitherto unnecessarily drawn upon the Terrestrial Globe PUB. JA.1.1. 1817', with an original fitted shagreen spherical case revealing 12 hand coloured engraving gores to papier-mâché sphere displaying celestial map to the top half (the shagreen case 9.25cm diameter)
