FINE GOLD AND SILVER INLAID ARCHAISTIC BRONZE WINE VESSEL
QING DYNASTY, 18TH / 19TH CENTURY
the square baluster form body raised on four bear cast feet and with twelve panels of dense interlocking scrolls, encircled by archaistic inlaid decoration, the handle and spout cast with mythical heads, the pyramidal shaped cover with conforming scroll decorated panels and surmounted by four bird-form finials

PROVENANCE: Dr David McCay. From the same private collection as the Wanli garlic mouth vase gifted to the V&A Museum by his wife Mrs. F H McCay, accession No. CIRC.23-1950.

Good overall appearance with signs of age and use. Front of spout does have an old crack to the bronze but it does no appear to go right through.
