May 21st to June 30th 1910, fine frontispiece photograph of the Semiramis and approx. 270 photographs including many postcards, varying sizes, contemporary black calf Morocco, 13 x 16¼in. (33 x 42cm.)
The Semiramis, under the ownership of Charles Paget, 6th Marquess of Anglesey (photographed several times) started its journey in Lisbon, then to Gibraltar, Tangier, Marrakesh, Monte Carlo, Naples, Pompeii, Sicily, Alexandria, Athens and other places in Greece, Venice and then home. In 1913 the Semiramis was sold to Russia and then underwent several changes of hands until 1924 (renamed the Alacrity) when there was no further trace of it.
