A Chinese painted pottery saddled horse, Tang Dynasty (AD 618-906), in red pottery that has been "cold painted" with a white pigment on top of which has been applied black pigments for the saddle and features of the head, 35cm high
There is expected surface wear and some loss of pigment in places, and although some degree of repair should reasonably be expected, none is obvious; this is a fine example of a Tang horse in fine condition.
