AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK, the oak case with caddy top and slender trunk enclosing a 12" square brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring and matted centre, the corners with engraved text reading "Behold this Hand, Observe ye motions Tip, Man's precious hours, Away Like these do Slip" fronting a weight driven movement with finned knopped pillars striking the hours on a bell. - sold by Brian Loomes.
