AN 1895 PATTERN VICTORIAN INFANTRY OFFICER's PRESENTATION SWORD. With an 82cm single edged, pointed and fullered blade with VR monogram and foliage to one and presentation inscription to the other 'Presented to Captain A.J. Sykes by the N.C. Officers & Men of F (Cheadle) Company 3rd V.B.C.R. as a Token of Esteem. Oct. 1897.' marked to the ricasso for Mappin and Webb158 Oxford St. W. With a broad pierced guard with crowned VR monogram, with wire bound shagreen grip and domed pommel. In nickle plated scabbard with twin ring suspension, 102cm overall. In distressed leather travelling cover. *CR Very good condition appearing to retain original finish throughout.
