Taxidermy: “Wolpertinger”. Full mount, with one paw raised, on log base. A particularly fine example of a fully grown adult male Wolpertinger. From German folklore, the Wolpertinger is a hare-like animal, with the wings of a duck; antlers of a deer; and fangs, said to inhabit the alpine forests of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg in Southern Germany. No wunderkammer is complete without one.
