A St John’s Ambulance Brigade Service Medal in silver with additional 5 years’ service clasp named to: Sgt J C Cossins Henley on Thames Div No 2 Dis SJAB 1928. The SJAB medal is unique in being the only officially issued service medal
which has continued to bear the effigy of Queen Victoria, rather than the current sovereign, right up to the present. This medal was awarded to Jessie Caroline Cossins, born in 1876 in Birmingham and died in 1966 in Brighton, aged 89.
