A cased pair of 18 bore percussion boxlock sidehammer belt pistols, by Whistler, Strand, London, c 1850, 10” overall, octagonal twist barrels 3½” signed on the top flat, with London proofs and swivel ramrod beneath; scroll engraved frame with 4” belt hook on left side; finely chequered flared butt with rectangular escutcheon and engraved oval steel butt cap. Very Good Working Order and Condition, the engraving crisp, with some original finish overall; in their blue velvet lined fitted mahogany case with walnut veneered lid, containing shell embossed copper flask (worn), brass mounted wooden cleaning rod, wad punch and an Eley cap tin.
