A 19th century silver mounted Russian Riza Icon, riza (oklad) with gilt finish consisting of a hammered sheet of silver featuring a central figure, dressed in religious clothing having an applied halo, delivering a blessing with his right hand and in his left hand holding a globus cruciger, framed by a repousse and chased foliate border, the riza covers a painted icon on wood, back covered with velvet fabric, with applied paper information, four impressed marks to bottom edge of riza of a master assay mark for either Aleksandr Nikolayevich Mitin or Aleksandr Yakovlevvich Moor over an 1858 date, a maker's mark, an "84" zolotniki mark for .875 silver fineness, and a St. Petersburg city mark, applied halo with zolotniki, city, and maker's marks, 10 ½ x 9in. (26.8 x 22.8cm.), together with a small travelling Icon with various silver marks. (2)
