A Japanese Meiji period satsuma vase, decorated with three hand painted panels between gold and silver decorated teal ground borders. Panels depict three characters at rest in a wooded setting, a village scene before a mountainous backdrop, and a songbird amidst native flora with a pair of butterflies in flight above. Signed by Yozan. Height 25cm. Note: artist is referred to in the Louis Lawrence Satsuma book 'The romance of Japan'
