Set of twelve Soviet propaganda posters reproduced by the 14 Independent Topographic Squadron, Royal Engineers for distribution to the troops of the British Army during the Cold War to educate the soldiers about the propaganda of the Soviet Union. 1. On Guard of Peace and Labour 1918-1985 - Design features a collage of imagery and text celebrating the traditions and culture of the Soviet Union including military flags and medals, illustrations of education, industry, science and sport. Messaging on the poster covers the final year of the five year plan, socialist obligations, honour and glory, defence of the motherland, The All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, defending the motherland and strengthening the military.
