A STERLING SILVER PORRINGER BOWL, with pierced handle decorated with scroll design. Marked Sterling to the base. Condition; in overall fair/good condition; there are some dents to the body, then handle is attached well to the bowl. Dimensions: 13cm wide without hand, 19 with handle, 4.5cm tall. 6 troy ounces. What is a porringer? Porringer bowls have their origin as far back as medieval times and are generally thought to have held broth or gruel; later they would be used for more such as wine, food etc.
