A 16 bore (.65") Volunteer percussion dragoon pistol, converted from flintlock, by Fotherby of Wakefield, barrel 9" with break off breech, B'ham proofs and engraved "Wakefield"; the slightly rounded lock signed "Fotherby" and having scroll engraved hammer; pale walnut fullstock, the fore-end of modified 1796 shape with original steel ramrod; regulation pattern brass mounts. GWO & clean, quite crisp, condition (small crack in the stock behind the lock). Fotherby of Wakefield listed as working c 1810-1830. £300-400
