ENGLISH SCHOOL, 18/19TH CENTURY. FENNEC FROM BRUCE'S TRAVELS; JERBOA FROM BRUCE'S TRAVELS. Two, each inscribed with title in ink, the latter further inscribed `Size rather less than a rat. inhabits gravelly places in the desert burrowing in holes like the Rabbit`, watercolour and pencil
Each 22 x 31.5cm or slightly smaller (2)

* The inscription suggests an association with the explorations of James Bruce of Kinnaird (1730-1794) in North Africa. Bruce identified the source of the Blue Nile in 1770 after twelve years' pursuit. These drawings appear to be later in date. *CR Fading and foxing.
