A late Regency mahogany breakfront bookcase in the manner of Gillows, with a pair of central glazed cupboard doors enclosing two adjustable shelves, flanked by turned columns and further conforming cupboards, 95.3cm high, 152.5cm wide, 42cm deep.

More Information

There are water stains, splits and scratches to the top, losses to each corner of the top and associated veneer loss. Loss of veneer to centre left hand door above the escutcheon, loss of three escutcheons. The central lock looks to be original but also looks as if the doors have been forced open as there is a retaining bar on the left hand central door. All locks work but the one to the left hand door needs some attention, key present. Various small losses of veneer overall, there are losses to the moulding holding the left hand door glass in place and also to the outside left and a small piece missing from the outside right side at the back. Good solid condition.
