PRESS PHOTOGRAPHY. Principally Second World War warships, cruisers and battleships, but some earlier and other related views. A group of approximately 77 black and white photographs, circa 1932-45. Various agencies, including Topical Press and other related agencies, with printed captions to verso, sizes from 20cm x 15cm up to 25cm x 20cm Subjects include: • H.M.S Destroyer 'Cossack' arriving at Leith with 300 seamen onboard who were rescued from the German 'hell ship' Altmarck • H.M.S Repulse laying smokescreen (May, 1939) • Stock photos of H.M.S Queen Elizabeth, H.M.S Royal Oak (lost 1939); HMS Hermes (95); Prince of Wales and others • A nice shot of U.S. Troops debarking in Casablanca, 1942 (qty, approximately 77)
