A German silver and enamel cigarette case by Louis Kuppenheim, Pforzheim, post 1886 .800 standard, circa 1900, painted with a half length portrait of an elegant lady, her petticoat strap dislodged, the push piece blue paste mounted, engraved verso 'G. H. Phillips from The Bunga Minstrels Aug. 1904', 9cm (3 1/2in) long, 131g (4.2 oz) gross, in a blue velvet fitted case from Charles Weill & Cie., Paris Provenance: a note inside reads 'This was given to Grandpa Phillips in appreciation of his work in helping with the lighting for his minstrel show'.
