BEATRIX POTTER BOOKS (EARLY). Firstly a 'Peter Rabbit'. The vendor suggests a 7th/8th printing. No 'Ltd.' on the front brown boards. The 'dot' in the letter 'O' to spine and title. In at least Good condition. Previous owner's neat signature. Slight wear to spine edge. Clean and bright. Also 'Pierre Lapin' (possibly 1st French edition, the vendor suggests); small neat gift inscr. Frederick Warne 'Ltd.' (as expected). Some splitting emerging (Pp 8/9); some small spine wear to top and bottom. Clean internally. 'The Tailor of Gloucester', Warne and Co. (not 'Ltd'). This has a very neat gift inscr. for Xmas 1905. So, certainly very early. In at least Good condition. Probably VG for age. All pages bright and clean and v. well bound. The vendor suggests 1st (trade edition), 3rd printing possibly. And 'The Tale of Mr. Tod', another very early edition, probably 1st ed. 3rd printing, as the vendor suggests. No date on title page but 'Copyright 1912 by Fredericck Warne & Co.' on verso. In very nice condition indeed. And finally, 'Ginger and Pickles', Frederick Warne & Co., 'Copyright 1909'. No edition mentioned. Again, the vendor suggests possibly 3rd printing, 1910. In Good overall condition. Slight abrasions/rubs to spine. Perhaps a little loose, but once again, a very early edition. None are jacketed, but condition of all Good or better, we suggest. A very nice collection.
