DUBLIN DISTINCTIVE '4' USED AS A CREDIT MARK ON TRANSATLANTIC MAIL; 5 June 1865 unpaid env. (small faults) 'By Canadian Packet (via Derry)' to Montreal with Derry and Montreal cds on rear and Ballycastle cds on front and sent via Dublin with a legible distinctive "4" h.s. - used in the 1839/40 4d Uniform Post Period on front - used to indicate British share of postage and two strikes (one weak) of the Canadian "25"(cents) charge mark being a conversion of 1/- sterling i.e. 6d rate + 6d fine.
