A Chinese soapstone group of a luohan and a lion dog, possibly 17th/18th century,
the figure holding an alms bowl in his left hand and wearing flowing robes, the lion-dog recumbent beside him,
22.5 cm height including card wood stand

More Information

There are natural inclusions to the stone and some wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some pitting to the top of the luohan?s head and to the right ear of the lion-dog. Both figures have been attached to the wood stand with a screw from underneath and have probably been glued as well. Otherwise in reasonable condition.

PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place. Whilst every care is taken in the accuracy of condition reports
