A VICTORIAN 1848 PATTERN CAVALRY TROOPERS SWORD BY WILKINSON.
With a 90cm blade with fine decoration, Royal Crown and monogram above initials A.M. beneath a heraldic lion, possibly for the owner, the sword marked 'Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall, London' numbered 9836, with an open honeysuckle style hilt, wire-bound handle and oval cross hatched pommel. In a heavy scabbard with twin ring suspension, 107cm overall. The number suggests a date of 1859. *It has been suggested that this is in fact an 1821/45 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Officers Sword.
