c.1906 Long cover to Sydney bearing 1906 Large Papua overprint 1/- block of four (S.G. 19, upper pair a little oxidised) each tied by "BNG" nine bar obliterator of Samarai (Lee type 25, recorded until early 1907). Vertical fold, reverse with a U.S Dollar price written in biro. An unusual high franking and a scarce issue on cover, the rate for a letter of 12oz (at 2d per ½oz, eminently possible on such a large cover); however there are no backstamps, and the block may possibly be cancelled to order.
