An impressive four piece Victorian tea and coffee service by Martin, Hall & Co, London 1877, comprising; a tea pot, coffee pot, two handled lidded sugar bowl and lidded milk jug, of vase shape, the domed hinged lid with cast pineapple finials with opening leaves, raised chased and engraved acanthus leaves C scroll handles with ivory insulators, acanthus capped spout, raised on a beaded edge stem and flared foot, coffee pot- 28cms., (11ins.) high, 2912gms., (92ozs), gross, (4) x Ivory Registration Number: Tea pot U8414XSC, Coffee pot Z6PSPY21 x This tea service is of exceptional quality and condition. Although we have no proof that was used for an exhibition, Richard Martin, Ebenezer Hall & Co. participated in the 1851 Great Exhibition, the International Exhibition (1862), the Sydney Exhibition (1879), the Melbourne Exhibition (1881) and the 1915 British Industries Fair.
