WW2 MBE (Military), 1939-1945, Africa, Italy Stars, Defence Medal, BWM and Greek Cross of Military Merit with crown and 1940 clasp attributed to Major Sidney Kingsley R.A. extremely fine to mint. His MBE was announced in the London Gazette dated 13th December 1945, with copy of citation, "It has been mainly due to the energy and ability of this officer that the present twelve Greek Army Training Schools have been put into operation so quickly. His efforts have been a major factor in overcoming the initial difficulties incumbent in starting this great training enterprise.
His knowledge of the Greek has been a vital factor, Major Kingsley has never spared himself and his enthusiasm has been unbounded, resulting in a real contribution to the war effort."
With excellent range of original documentation including MBE bestowal document dated 13/12/45, Buckingham Palace transmittal slip, Greek Cross of Military Merit award document dated 1945, folder of documents with Routine Orders, appointment letters and signals, programmes, casualty returns etc, 50+ photos, original boxes for MBE, Greek Cross of Military Merit, War Office campaign medals box addressed to S. Kingsley, Hendon Central, matching set of swing mounted miniatures with an additional foreign award included. Also with a copy of a typed history of the 79th A-T Regt Aug 1941- June 1943 with whom Maj Kingsley served. Offered on behalf of the family, never before on the market. (See photo) (B)
