The Peking Opera: Eight 20th century Chinese fans, five of which are contained in brocade covered boxes, the first of the three large examples showing masks from the Peking Opera characters, and a description of the Opera; the second showing King Yu’s Mausoleum Temple at Zhejiang, China, with a poem from the Tang Dynasty on the verso,
and the third with a roaring tiger, a dragon, and possibly the raising of the Spirit world, the remainder consisting of one small bone and feather fan, three simple brisés in plain wood (and a further paper fan printed with masks) (8)
Seven are in unused condition, the feather fan has wear to the feathers.
