1573 Elizabeth I silver Threepence, third/fourth coinage, acorn mintmark (S 2566, North 1998). Obverse: taller crowned bust with visible ear and crown behind, acorn mintmark before legend that reads 'ELIZABETH: D: G: ANG: FR ET: HI REGINA'. Reverse: square-topped shield of royal arms quartered by a long cross fourchee with the date (1573) above, an acorn mintmark, and 'POSVI DEV · ADIVTOREM · MEV' around with what could be a tiny key symbol to the left of the acorn. Weight: 1.52g. Diameter: 19mm. Grade: aVF - round flan, one indent on the bust and some pitting, otherwise around Very Fine.
