100% Genuine Zulu Assegai Short Stabbing Spear used by Zulu warriors during the Anglo-Zulu War 1879 in South Africa including the Famous battles of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift. This most likely started life as a long spear, until the short spear was introduced in the 1820's by King Shaka who preferred
the close quarter combat. By drawing the enemy close the Zulu warrior who would knock the enemy off guard with his shield and then stab him in his exposed body. This was a Veterans souvenir bring back of the time and had been in the same family for 130 + years.
