A Chinese porcelain crackle glazed tripod censer, probably 18th century, with twin elephant head handles, covered in a caramel crackled glaze with reddish tints to the edges of the rim, the glaze stopping in a neat circle within the feet, revealing the unglazed body, 3½in. (9cm.) high, 7in. (17.8cm.) diameter plus handles, with a later presentation box with hardwood stand. *** FOOTNOTE *** Tiny, very fine crack to rim which has formed through the crackle glazing - it can be felt with the tip of the fingernail on the very rim edge, but not anywhere else. This is not believed to be later damage, but from the firing. No other faults.
