BUT HELD IN PARIS P.O.'s "CABINET NOIR"; 25 Nov. 1806 EL (unsealed; family news etc from the addressee's mother & father) from "Choisy [en Brie]" to; "M Francois Barbie, Soldat a la 20eme demi-Brigade de ligne en Prison a Stapleton pres Bristol" with partly fine "P.73.P/LA FERTE-GAUCHER" without Paris marks but with "15" prepaid rate on reverse; clearly never delivered - letters sent after Napoleon's suspension of Mail exchange from 21 Nov. 1806 are thought to have remained in the Paris P.O.'s Secret Office ("Cabinet Noir") - there is a hole cut (?by the censor) at top left of the contents.
