Footnote: Provenance: The Collection of George Fenigsztein - known by his stage name George Durac - was a keen amateur archaeologist. George's parents left Poland in the early 1930's. His father, Hermann, together with his 3 brothers, was well known in the Yiddish theatre. Arriving in Glasgow he became chazan at the Glasgow synagogue. His tenor voice is recorded on some old 78 records. He later had a gallery in Crawford Street "The Phoenix Gallery" and, before that, he had the Art Shop in Northern Road, Southampton, that was in late 50's early 60's.
Some cracking to the surface throughout, with paint loss evident to the edge.
