Follower of Antonio Pollaiuolo (1433-1498) Italian, a circular portrait of Christ, oil on panel, 25 cm diameter in a wooden frame.

Footnote: Provenance: The Collection of George Fenigsztein - known by his stage name George Durac - was a keen amateur archaeologist. George's parents left Poland in the early 1930's. His father, Hermann, together with his 3 brothers, was well known in the Yiddish theatre. Arriving in Glasgow he became chazan at the Glasgow synagogue. His tenor voice is recorded on some old 78 records. He later had a gallery in Crawford Street "The Phoenix Gallery" and, before that, he had the Art Shop in Northern Road, Southampton, that was in late 50's early 60's.
